Independance....

I can't believe I've never done a 4th of July card.  Well that's something maybe for next year!  Mostly today is a day of having fun with friends and family celebrating being able to do go and do whatever is legal. I'm thinking about being free from pain so maybe I can go have fun next year.  I bet my daughter is thinking about being 17 going on 18 and all the independance that will bring.  What does independance mean to you?  Do you need a special card saying how good it is to just be you? Special Relationship....

My daughter turns 17 today.  Lots of memories from that day....it was very, very hot that day.  Triple digit temperatures.  Plus O.J. Simpson was running from the law so there was something to watch on the TV while I waited for Leah's arrival.  Little did I know that this child would have such an impact on my life.  I get to be the Mother that I never had.  There is always time for second chances in life.  Happy Birthday sweet daughter....you are truly a gift to me.

Happy Birthday Big Brother....

I haven't seen my brother in many years....not sure how long it's been.  I am glad that my daughter gets to see her big brothers pretty regularly.  I hope she is always that lucky.  My brother's pictures make excellent cards.  Do you have someone who has a birthday coming up?  There's still a little over a week until Father's Day.  Send a Heartifacts Card with your Dad's picture on it!  It is a card that is a gift!

Happy Birhday #1 Son.....

One of the inspirations in my life turns 23 today.  He's handsome, smart and charming. He's currently going to college and sells Cutco.  He has a very expressive face which makes a great card.  Unfortunately my back is not feeling all that great this week so I actually did a hand drawn card.  It's good to break away from the usual and do something different. Pre-birthday....

My daughter asked me yesterday what was my favorite breakfast.  Oh boy, that's a hard one as I love breakfast...there's french toast and waffles and omelets and then powdered sugar donettes, oh and biscuits and oatmeal with real fruit and nuts and cream and spices!  It made me feel special just thinking about it just like I like to make people feel extra special with a Heartifacts Card.

I am a Birthday Scrooge of sorts....

This year, like many years in the past, I take my birthday day off.  It makes me feel very uncomfortable for people to tell me "Happy Birthday!"  Frankly, as I approach my 5*th birthday, I'd rather be 45.  I should be happy I am alive etc. and feel blessed for having all that I have.  I am, I just don't want to be told I need to be a certain way on "my day".   So with that, I do love it when other people have birthdays.  I like to celebrate their specialness.  In celebration of my birthday this week, I'll be featuring other people's birthdays, cuz without them, I would have no reason to be creative!!  Happy Birthday! Everyone else!
